Queensland Aspects Design Competition
What do you need to do?
Design and produce a corporate gift to fit one of the following categories:
- Under $50
- $50 - $100
- Up to $150
What do you mean by corporate gift?
These are gifts that are presented by a senior Queensland Government representative to high level dignitaries, international representatives, delegations etc.
What kind of item would make a suitable gift?
The item must reflect Queensland and its special features, be easily packaged for travel, be culturally appropriate, have abroad client appeal and be stylish.
Some gifts being used at the moment include cufflinks, tie pins, scarves, ties pens, books, wood turned pieces bowls vases, framed artworks and photographs coasters, letter openers, business card holders. Things that would not be suitable are perishable foodstuff, personal jewelry such as bracelets, rings and casual wear such as a T-shirt.
Closing date and prizes
Share in $8000 of prizes for TAFE teachers and students. Closing date for the competition is Friday 31 July 2008.

Bracken Ridge Careers Expo
When
Tuesday, 5 August 2008, 9am - 3pm.
Where
Bracken Ridge Campus, 157 Norris Road, Bracken Ridge.
The Careers Expo will offer school students information on employment opportunities and careers from Apprenticeship Providers, Group Training Organisations, Qld Police Service and the Australian Defence Forces.
Tertiary education institutions will provide information sessions on degree courses, vocational education, diploma and certificate courses, and interactive displays in the trades, sport & recreation and child studies will offer students hands-on activities in these fields.

Brisbane North Institute of TAFE Graduation
When
Tuesday, 19 August 2008, 6 pm.

Main Auditorium, City Hall, King George Square, Brisbane City.
Brisbane North Institute of TAFE is holding a formal graduation ceremony for all students who have successfully completed Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications.
Diploma and Advanced Diploma graduands will wear the official Brisbane North Graduation gown and collar. To be eligible to participate in this ceremony, students must complete all units of their qualification prior to 18 July 2008.
