Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) helps jobseekers improve their employability skills and prepares them for further study or employment.

If you would like to get back into the workforce, learn skills for a new job, study something new, or return to school, SEE can help you gain the confidence to achieve your goals.

SEE is an Australian Government program funded by the Department of Education and Training and delivered by TAFE Queensland.

An eligible SEE student may:

  • participate in up to 800 hours of free training
  • choose part-time or full-time study
  • be entitled to the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Supplement from Centrelink.

Through SEE students can:

  • find and apply for a job
  • develop study skills for further education or training
  • improve technology skills
  • do work observation or work experience in different industries
  • improve skills in reading, writing, spelling, listening, speaking and maths.

SEE is different to school because it's for adult learners and early school leavers.

Students will:

  • learn at their own pace with supportive teachers in relaxed classes
  • benefit from experienced teachers who specialise in adult learning
  • gain practical skills in classes that are tailored to their abilities, goals and interests
  • use computers and other technology like iPads.

SEE is an approved Work for the Dole activity.
